HOUCKSVILLE ROBOT SCULPTURES
Inspired by industrial design of the early 1960's/late 1970's, The Robots of Houcksville sculptures are based on self-published comic book characters of the same name. Each Genuine Houcksville Robot Sculpture is a one of a kind art object for your home or office, complete with screen printed packaging and mini-comic and inspired by late 1960's/early 1970's vintage electronics and industrial packaging. Based on the characters found in the Robots of Houcksville mini-comics, Houcksville robot sculptures were originally only available in small quantities at the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Maryland. I am now excited to be offering them for sale online!
"What does a Houcksville robot sculpture do? Nothing, it's art. Warning: Robot sculptures are designed to bring joy to their owners and all who are lucky enough to see them. They will NOT do your dishes, play music, walk your dog, do your taxes, bring you a beer from your fridge, NOR clean your house." (excerpt from packaging)
A variety of new and vintage materials are used in the construction of each Houcksville robot sculpture beginning with a hand-turned wooden body made from Ash. Repositionable legs are made from repurposed windshield wiper blades and roller ball casters that are held in place with curtain rod brackets. Glass domes are made from a vintage bottle with a wooden domed disc and inflating needle antennae. A vintage nickel-plated steel vented hole plug and vintage flip-top oiler or grease fitting accent each sculpture. Robot sculptures are illuminated with 2 LEDs, powered by an Energizer 3V lithium battery (included)!
Each robot sculpture and screen printed box are individually signed, numbered and dated. Will ship securely packaged and insured.
